Faqs

1Does ArexVPN Work In China?
Yes, there are ArexVPN servers that work for those currently residing in China behind the “Great Firewall.” However, the servers that work today could be blocked tomorrow. The Chinese government works hard to control its citizens’ access to the Internet. The Great Firewall is a vast system of technical tools, including DNS filtering, URL filtering, and deep packet inspection, that the Chinese government uses to prevent Chinese citizens from accessing foreign websites. The Chinese government also uses these tools to detect and block VPN servers. Because the Great Firewall is constantly changing and evolving, it is impossible to guarantee that ArexVPN will always be accessible from China. Accessibility may also vary, both from day to day and from region to region within China. ArexVPN’s mission is to provide secure and private Internet access to everyone, and we are always working on countermeasures so that our VPN servers can evade being detected by the Great Firewall. If you plan to use ArexVPN in China or are in China and experiencing connection issues, please contact our Support team. While we cannot publicly share this information, our support team can provide you with some possible workarounds to access ArexVPN’s servers from China.
2Who Owns ArexVPN
ArexVPN is a service provided by ArexVPN AG which is based in Geneva, Switzerland. ArexVPN AG is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Proton Technologies AG which is also based in Geneva, Switzerland. Proton was founded in 2014 by a team of scientists who met at CERN (the European Center for Nuclear Research) and created ProtonMail, the world’s largest encrypted email service. 3How Does P2P VPN Redirection Works With ArexVPN
Peer-to-Peer is a network protocol for computer users that allows to search and download content. Because of the unique structure of the network, it is very efficient for downloading large files. On a Peer-to-Peer network, when a user is searching for a specific file, the installed software is locating the copies within the network. It then allows the user to create multiple connections with several sources that have all or part of the requested file. As parts of the file are received, they are also uploaded to other users that are requesting that file. Most commonly used example of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) software is torrents, therefore many users are using VPN for torrenting. However, nonetheless, there could be other applications using the same network principle or even some websites.
4Participate In The ArexVPN Android App Beta
If you are using an Android device and would like to test new builds of ArexVPN app before they’re released publicly, you can join the ArexVPN Android app beta program. Like our non-beta Android VPN application, the beta is completely free to join and use. As a community support project, user participation and feedback is crucial for ArexVPN app development. Beta testers will be able to give feedback that directly impacts the app. Note that beta builds will have new features which might not have been tested on all Android operating system versions that may cause unexpected app behavior. If you run into any bugs.
